What is the JSC license?
A simple explanation of the regulator, the strength of the license, and what to check before opening an account.
The Jordan Securities Commission, commonly known as the JSC, regulates and supervises Jordan’s capital market and the financial activities that fall within its jurisdiction. Its responsibilities include overseeing licensed financial services firms, brokerage companies, investment management activities, financial advisory services, and other businesses connected to securities and capital markets.
For traders, the JSC provides official directories that can be used to verify the legal company name, regulatory status, and permitted financial activities. This gives investors a more reliable way to check a broker than relying only on marketing claims, license badges, or information displayed on the broker’s website.
However, a global broker may operate through several legal entities. The presence of one group company in the JSC directory does not automatically mean that every client account is opened under the Jordan-regulated entity. Traders should confirm the company named in the client agreement, the applicable license, and the entity that will actually hold their funds before making a deposit.
